We were just kids.
Trying to survive what you brought us into.
Lives forever affected.
Minds lost and hearts broke.
Even at 25 I still feel the devastation.
The vibrations my body picks up on are all alarms.
Flight or fight has a different meaning to us.
None of us made it.
Just a different version of you.
My brain is wired wrong, and my sister doesn't feel anything.
We function on a different level.
We process with caution and feel with fear.

About the Book
The Waves is a collection of poems I have written as I heal from childhood trauma. Each poem is personal to me but has the potential to greatly impact others as well. As you read The Waves you come along my journey of healing and finding faith. My prayer for the book is to have you take it along your journey. May you find comfort and peace through the waves of life.
