The essence of wisdom is to understand God. An understanding of God is better than strength or power because eternal life is available to anyone who wishes to know the One known as YHWH. This book has been written for the one who wishes to know God and enjoy life.
The purpose of this writing is to present both the simplicity and complexity of the character and essence of Yahweh. The Bible, the account and description of the King of kings, has been published in many languages. A poor man may offer a few words of wisdom; but true wisdom belongs only to God. Considering these facts, an explanation of why this account has been written is obviously required. (Luke 1:1) In truth, it just seemed like the right thing to do. (Luke 1:3)
The gospels of the New Testament were recorded by fishermen and common citizens. The apostle Paul was an educated scholar that required assistance from the Holy Spirit. The teachings in this book are from their words of scripture.
A brief description:
Title: One Thesis: Yahweh the Lord God is One.
YHWH, the One of Existence, is personal, approachable, and identifiable. Yahweh is a complete unity of One, of the only order of One. He is an amazing One. An account of his existence has been recorded in scripture.
The identified characteristics of our amazing Almighty Father are listed alphabetically, except for the subject of love. Each of the characteristics are introduced with a definition or explanation. Character traits, descriptions, or theological statements are supported with scripture references.
Before a discussion concerning the character of Yahweh can be presented, an understand of the fact that the nature or existence of Deity and every aspect of his character is influenced by love must first be explained. God is Love; and everything that he has done or will do is influenced by love. For example, purity determines the value of gold, and the way light is captured and distributed influences the value of a gemstone. In the same way, the brilliance and purity of God’s love influences every character trait of the Almighty and determines the value of this one almighty Deity.
Unless we understand that love is always present, to reveal the brilliance of Yahweh’s character, we would fail to understand how his honor or judgment are influenced by love. As well, unless we understand that Deity love is without measure, or that his love is pure and perfect we would fail to understand simple statements or descriptions that adequately express his character. “For God so loved the world, he gave his only son, so that….” (John 3:16)
As you read through the following descriptions of Deity, remember that every characteristic of Deity is touched or blessed by the presence of love, that the brilliance and beauty and value of his character cannot be fully expressed without understanding that Yahweh is Love.
