Proverbs 15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but He loves him who pursues righteousness. How do we pursue righteousness? In the Old Testament pursuit of righteousness required sacrifices and following the law. You would have to raise your own livestock to be sacrificed if you had the means. The offering would be on your mind every day as you cared for that animal. Likewise, if you needed to purchase your sacrifice, it would not be far from your daily thoughts and a big part of your budget. I guess you could say that you needed to worry about it. But all efforts fell short and needed constant repeating. There was a chasing after righteousness but never really an attaining. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ made His righteous life a once for all atonement for our sin and paved the way for us to be made righteous. Now we only need to accept the finished work of Christ to become forever righteous. His righteousness is our passport to an open border with Father that permits us access to the throne of the Almighty Creator of the universe. His righteousness is permanent and far-reaching. His righteousness is perfect in every way. He has completely removed our transgressions from us. Permanently. Never shall we be held accountable for our sins or punished for our iniquities. He has exonerated us from all unrighteousness and covered us in His unfathomable holiness and purity and His glorious righteousness. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Father sees us as holy, blameless and righteous, new creations filled with Holy Spirit. That is our remarkable status and it will never leave us nor forsake us. Hallelujah! Our task is to vehemently agree with what Father’s Holy Word says and ignore all feelings and bad reports. Now in our new covenant relationship we pursue righteousness with steadfast belief and relentless praise and thanksgiving. That’s how we pursue righteousness and the fruit of that passionate belief system will be self-evident in our transformation. Christlikeness will manifest. Today let’s take every thought captive that says we are not righteous and slay it with the absolute truth of Fathers Word. Father, I’m so grateful for Your salvation and grace. Thank You for making me forever righteous. I believe I am righteous and I will force my thoughts to line up with Your Word. Thank You that Your Word became flesh to set me free from my sin and the power of sin and the stain of sin. I am free and marked by Your grace. I am a new creation filled with Holy Spirit and full of new life. I am solid in my new creation identity and brimming with confidence. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! I’m so grateful. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.

Righteous Son is a sixty-three-day devotional focusing on the righteousness that Jesus Christ has earned for us. Designed in three twenty-one-day segments, it seeks to rewire old mindsets to embrace the Father’s truths and build confidence in our new creation identity. A right understanding of our Christ-given righteous status will unlock the doors previously impenetrable and give us victory over habitual sins.
Author Keith Murphy spent most of his school career dodging English class and has always disliked writing, but in 2016 he discovered that he could get revelation more clearly by writing about each scripture that Holy Spirit was highlighting. Revelation became clearer, and writing became a joy. His time with Holy Spirit grew more intimate, and these devotional writings emerged. Keith prays that the short commentaries and prayers help shift the way believers think and facilitate a Holy Spirit–driven transformation. They focus on healthy identity, new creation, and living with a focus on the ages to come.
About the Author
Keith Murphy is a born again Christian, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a contractor. He spent most of his school career, dodging English class and has always disliked writing. In 2016 he discovered that he could get revelation more clearly as he wrote about each scripture that Holy Spirit was highlighting. Revelation became more clear and writing became a joy. Time with Holy Spirit grew more intimate, and these devotional writings are what came out of those transforming times.
