About the Book
This book provides insight into the joy a child experiences when she sees the "toy of her dreams" near the check-out counter. When her Mother is walking out of the store and calls her name, she runs to join her (not realizing she still had the toy in her hand). The story includes issues of conflict, confusion, fear, comfort, empathy, resolution, and friendship. The story ends with a plan to earn money for tasks at home and learn to save for items of interest.
About the Author
Dr. Tisa is a retired physical therapist with a Ph.D. in statistics. Her nickname "Tisa" was given to her by a sibling who couldn't pronounce her given name "Theresa". It stuck. Tisa has enjoyed working with children all her life and has a knack for understanding their struggles, concerns, and difficulties. She learned how to communicate with her younger non-verbal autistic brother when she was only five years old. She has continued to devote her energy to helping children understand, navigate, or adapt.
