This book tells of silent hidden issues that are painful and heart wrenching that we have buried deep down into our being. Because we refuse to address and cope with the issue, we wear masks daily and for every occasion. This failure to respond appropriately to the issues will create fear of revealing our past, our failures, our shortcomings and a plethora of other hidden issues and the cracks in the make-up of our earthen jar. As servants of God, we must be honest. The hierarchy of honesty is God, self, and others. When we are not honest with ourselves and God, our communication is hindered with Him and others. How can we get our brokenness mended if we are living a concealed life? How can we receive the grace and mercy that God offers in our time of need? No matter how proficient we become at wearing masks to fit our needs, eventually in this life, they will become cumbersome. They may even break into pieces due to excessive and constant changing. When this occurs, the real you may be exposed to others as well as your recognition of who you really are. We must understand that, with God, nothing is hidden or are there any issues that will not be known. God knows the real you. Now is the time to remove all the masks. Because the number may be voluminous and the task burdensome, today is the day to start the execution of the process. The longer you wear your masks, the tighter the fit and the harder it becomes to remove them. Facing your true self will be difficult. It takes courage to look at yourself in the mirror and see the real you. Revealing silent issues and taking off masks are like peeling onions layer by layer. We may have to shed some tears. In order to reveal the radical honesty about ourselves we must peel down into the very depths of our integrity. We must commit to uncovering and knowing the truth about Mr. & Ms. Self. Disguises will only conceal us from who we really are and obscure the truth that makes us whole, holy, and free. May God bless the truth of His Word into your life as you begin the continuous process of issue revealing and mask removal.

About the Author
Rev. Dr. LaRuth E. Lockhart earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Shaw College in Detroit, Michigan, a Master’s degree in education from the University of Michigan, and at age eighty-three received a PhD in theology from Christian Bible College, Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She is an ordained minister and a certified Biblical counselor. Dr. LaRuth and her husband, Rev. Benjamin Lockhart Jr., have two adult children, four grandchildren, and five great-grand sons.
