Well, he said,“You saved yourself! It is cancer, your scheduled for surgery on Wednesday, after that you will need chemotherapy and radiation.” BOOM, JUST LIKE THAT!
I am going to die, I thought. This is it; I am going to die; I am going to die. Tears are coming down my face. Bill is crying.
No No, I said, I need to go to work and get things in order.
“No, you are not going to work, call them and get ready for surgery on Wednesday.” He said and left the room. I was not given a choice in what kind of surgery. No option for a mastectomy currently.
Thankfully, there was an impressive and compassionate nurse in the room with us. She helped me get out of bed and she kept telling me that this is NOT a death sentence. “Cancer is not a death sentence Many women are surviving breast cancer."

Bill and I are Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ as our personal savior. Life has treated us well; we trust God will provide for us and he has. Then we were faced with breast cancer, not just one time, but two and then a third time. I wrote this book to give hope and guidance to anyone facing cancer. Thank God we have our Lord and our faith, to carry us through this journey together.
