In this dramatic Book of Revelation, John is in the Spirit - he sees and hears the unfolding and unleashing of the awesome and awful power of the Christ, Who reveals secrets to the children of men. This book offers correction, counsel and hope to the church that her Lord still reigns as KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS and He will return in power and glory with His triumphant bride. Revelation reveals awful judgments; the indignation and wrath of God upon the rebellious, incorrigible children of disobedience. The book reveals Satan as the monstrous red dragon, that "old serpent," the devil, who "anoints" the antichrist and the false prophet, deceives the world, fights against God and the saints and is finally cast into his prepared place - the lake of fire and brimstone, where he will suffer eternal torment (Matthew 25:41). Many have neglected the study of Revelation due to fear-the awfulness of God's judgments; the abundant use of symbolism and the lack of understanding thereof; counsel to avoid the book and other reasons. However, Revelation is the only book in the Bible that pronounces a blessing upon those who "readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand" (1:3). The Book of Revelation is meant to be understood in that the Lord revealed it to the Apostle John and he in turn was to send this precious prophecy to the seven churches in Asia. The Spirit of God is seen throughout Revelation as events, symbols, statements, prophecies and fulfillments are explained elsewhere in the Holy Scriptures. Revelation is in harmony with the other 65 books of the Bible. A study of the Book of Daniel will greatly aid in understanding Revelation. This current study in the Book of Revelation, is a basic course designed to help students become acquainted with this God inspired prophecy. Hundreds of scripture references are cited throughout the course. God's will for His church during this Dispensation of Grace, will hopefully become more clear; interpretations of the words of the Lamb of God, symbolism and biblical numerals will be explored; the doom of the unjust and the joys of eternal life in Heaven for the saints, will be seen. Students are to be committed to God's holy principles and practices if we are to see His Face in peace at the judgment. May we experience a closer walk with the Lord as we prayerfully study the Book of Revelation.
