By increasing the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of health care, telemedicine has improved health outcomes worldwide, including those for adults with asthma in the United States. However, access to and utilization of telemedicine by asthmatic adults (18 to 55 years) in poor, inner-city areas are low. This systematic review sought to clarify the impact of telemedicine on asthma morbidity and mortality for inner-city, underserved adults. Understanding of the impact of telemedicine on asthma, mobidity and mortality for inner-city underserved adults are the results in this book to improve the reader's knowledge.

This book was developed from the review of a systematic research project for a doctoral study about the effect of telemedicine in the treatment of underserved adults 18-55 years with asthma.
