About the Book
We all go through times in our lives where we feel alone, discouraged, or depressed. Gems from the Heart is a compilation of poetry mostly written during times of trouble and stress. The Author began writing poetry in her teens to help her cope with difficult times. She finds comfort in writing poems about struggles she has faced over the years. Many of these poems were written while she was on a short-term medical mission with Mercy Ships in Liberia, West Africa. The goal of this book is to help others during difficult times to find the peace and joy that only God can give.
About the Author
Ruth Payne was born and raised in Washington State and spent most of her childhood years living on a ranch in rural Eastern Washington. She currently works as an Advanced EMT for an EMS agency in the mountains of North Central Washington. She enjoys spending time doing outside activities which include hiking, biking, and skiing.
