About the Book
Do you have a disability? Ellie does. Sometimes, having a disability leads her to feel frustrated or even sad. Do you ever feel that way? Ellie has learned what helps her when feelings get overwhelming, and now she wants to help you. From talking with God and recognizing what makes you unique, she encourages you to consider how the things that make you unique also make the world a better place. No one is exactly like you and that is what makes you awesome!
About the Author
Brook Shepherd has had a passion for reading for as long as she can remember. As an adult, she realized another passion of hers was helping children. Combined, these led her to earn a bachelor's degree in early childhood education that she utilizes to teach reading literacy. Having a disability herself, she recognized a need for picture books that address topics of disability with characters more children could relate to. She hopes her books encourage children to be proud of who they are and to seek out ways of making a positive impact on our world.
