ESSENTIAL INGREDIENTS TO HEALING OF THE SOUL MINISTRY
The “Essential Ingredients” to Healing of the Soul Ministry (HOSM) is the guiding tool for the application of this prayer counseling modality. It consists of ten ingredients. Included with each ingredient is an educational moment, discussion and/or counseling, ending with prayer specific to the Essential Ingredient being addressed. Each person receiving the ministry (the receiver) will process through and experience the same ingredients in the systematic format in which it is intended.
Healing of the Soul Ministry (HOSM) is non-discriminate, meaning that any person, of any ethnicity or nationality can receive HOSM, that is providing there is proper interpretation if the receiver and minister speak different languages. This chapter will provide a brief description of each Essential Ingredient. Each “essential ingredient” is incorporated in the five to seven (5 -7) sessions that a “receiver” will process through.
Though Healing of the Soul Ministry is a nonprofit organization, it is the prayer counseling modality in which the organization’s name is derived and goes by the name HOSM (wholesome without the “L”) as prophetically established by our Ministers Coordinator, HOSM Advanced Minister, Deidre Williams. This prayer counseling modality is used to help people find soul healing. As a part of Healing of the Soul Ministry are “specific issues” prayer counseling. Specific issues are issues that are the target or main emphasis for the person’s involvement in Healing of the Soul Ministry. For example, rejection, mother, father or parent wounds, sexual abuse, witchcraft, anxiety, etc. HOSM4AA (Healing of the Soul Ministry for African Americans) is a specific issue relating to the soul wounds that African Americans have received through slavery and racism in American. Essential Ingredients relating to this specific issue will be explained in the next chapter.
Though not an “Essential Ingredient,” it is explained and expressed to the receiver that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior begins the process of true soul healing. A scriptural presentation on salvation is provided leaving room for discussion and clarification as to what salvation means. The entire prayer counseling process of HOSM relies upon the power of the Word of God (Jesus is the Word according to John 1), choosing to believe and receive the Word of God (The Bible) over human presumption or reasoning, the way of the world or the powers of darkness. The principles and concepts of the Word of God are applied directly or indirectly in each session.
However, if a person has not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, are not believers in Jesus Christ, or followers of His, this does not discount them from receiving Healing of the Soul Ministry. If they are willing to accept the premise from which we operate and are willing to comply with the ministers and the modality, we believe that they can receive a level of healing and change.
What is an “Essential Ingredient”
It is generally understood that anything noted as essential means that whatever it is ranks as very important, very significant, a necessity. If that thing is not incorporated or applied, the outcome will be flawed or would not form. As in baking a cake, flour is an essential ingredient. Without it (unless some gluten free alternative is used) there would be no cake. Also, baking powder is essential. Without it, there would be a cake, but not pretty and not a good texture as it probably will not rise. Just as there are various essential ingredients to making a cake, with healing of the soul there are various ingredients included to ensure that the issues are as fully addressed as possible to help in facilitating manifold soul healing. This soul healing brings the person to a better position emotionally, mentally, and spiritually to pursue their purpose for living, have better relationships, and experience the peace and joy of God. Through research, training and/or participation in other prayer counseling modalities, and being led by the Holy Spirit, this author developed Healing of the Soul Ministry (HOSM) modality for soul healing. Following is the breakdown of the Essential Ingredients to Healing of the Soul Ministry.
Essential Ingredient #1:
Knowing & Understanding the Love of God - Believing God loves you and receiving His Love, by faith, if necessary.
The receiver coming to know the Love that God has for them personally is essential to the individual choosing to trust Him with the healing of their soul. It empowers them with peace and courage to pursue their healing because they accept, either by faith, or through an encounter with God by His Spirit or a revelation from Him in their spirit, that they are loved by God unconditionally. This is the beginning of them being open to addressing wounds that they may not even be aware of and of the healing power of God through Jesus Christ, who is the Healer!
Essential Ingredient #2:
An Ongoing Relationship with God
This session provides a brief presentation on developing and maintaining a personal relationship with God. Seeking God and developing a relationship with Him through prayer and reading the Bible, Word of God is emphasized. They learn that talking to God and learning to relate to Him as a Father and as a Friend is essential to the growth of this relationship along with praying in and through the name of Jesus. An additional aspect of this essential ingredient is a scriptural presentation about the Holy Spirit and the importance of being led by the Holy Spirit.
Essential Ingredient #3:
The Art of Forgiveness & Repentance
Forgiveness & Repentance – these are essential ingredients in the healing process. As expressed to the receiver, they are not healing; they open the door to healing. Receivers receive a detailed presentation for the understanding of both forgiveness and repentance. Opportunity to discuss and to list people they need to forgive, including self, and repentance (asking for God’s forgiveness) is the essence of this session.
Essential Ingredient #4:
Ungodly Soul Connections, The Power of Words, Vows & Judgements
