About the Author
Lynita Weaver Motes has been painting commissioned oil portraits and fine art for 35 years, and teaching classes in her Birmingham, Alabama studio for nine of those years. After raising five children, she and her husband now raise sheep on their farm where they manage a bed and breakfast. Lynita serves on the board for Raising Dreamers Ministries, a Christ-centered women’s ministry. She writes blogs for their website and serves as a speaker using her art to convey the message of hope through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lynita uses words in this account of Joe Gillis to paint a portrait of his life. She brings an angle of creativity to Joe’s story as it unravels through the pages of his biography.
