Chance and I felt a real bond right from the start. He’s really like a big dog in some ways, following people around, taking stock of what they are doing. It seemed like it would be nice to have the big guy around. Chance arrived February 10th. He walked out of the trailer, looked around, and calmly started to graze on what grass was available. His stall was ready, covered in pine shavings with a plug of coastal hay and a plug of alfalfa hay waiting for him. He didn’t seem to mind being left and spent the afternoon looking around and eating… and eating… and eating. It didn’t take him long to be waiting for me at the gate each morning.

About the Book
When my sister offered Chance I thought it would be nice to return to the days of my youth when I rode horses. Chance had some issues with his joints and my sister thought he would do better in our area. through out time together he has thrived and we have developed a very special relationship. He can be a real character. This book describes our time together and the bond that has developed.
About the Author
Gary R. Gray is an ordained deacon retired of the United Methodist Church. He is a licensed mental health counselor and certified employee assistance professional. Prior to his career in mental health, he directed music for the United Methodist Church. Gary holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Stetson University, Deland, Florida; a Masters of Music in Theory and Composition from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas and a Master of Arts in Counselor Education from University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. A member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for more than three decades he serves as a Chaplain in the Jacksonville area.
