Sixty Truths Jesus Emphasized

In our modern, post-Christian culture, there is a widespread rebellion against the very possibility of absolute truths which apply for all people across all time and in every culture. The amen statements in the Gospels demolish a worldview that promotes mere personal, relativistic truths which are flippantly adopted or discarded at the discretion of the individual. On our lips, amen expresses agreement and approval with what has been said. On the lips of Jesus, amen conveys truth, authority, certainty, sovereignty, dependability, validity and binding obligation. Therefore, on Christ and these accentuated truths we are given a rock on which to build our faith, our lives, our destiny. Every “Amen, amen, I say unto you . . .” declaration by Jesus assures us that God’s prophecies will come true, that his eternal promises will be kept, that God’s justice will prevail, and that God’s purposes will be achieved by his sovereign will. It is no wonder then that when Jesus was transfigured in glowing radiance brighter than the sun thereby revealing more of his majesty, God the Father declared, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” (Matthew 17:5). Listen to him! Listen!

About the Book
Jesus is the embodiment of truth. Everything Jesus said is true. So, when Jesus intentionally emphasized a particular truth as being especially noteworthy, it only makes sense for us to pay close attention to what he just said. This book presents a collection of sixty potentially life-changing truths which Jesus emphasized that deserve everyone’s sincere consideration and response. The author did not choose which truths to emphasize. Jesus did. If Jesus deemed these sixty truths to be worthy of special attention, so should we.

About the Author
Lee Canning is a former pastor who earned a master of science degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Georgia followed by a master of divinity degree from the Alliance Theological Seminary. His desire is to make Christ known through these sixty truths that Jesus himself emphasized as being especially important. Lee has enjoyed preparing and teaching Bible study lessons for nearly fifty years.
