Shane quickly stepped back. What had moved? He looked where he had seen motion. There it was again. A grasshopper. He had seen them before – loads of them. But there was always another sheep between him and the grasshoppers. Not today! He was going to catch that grasshopper. He knew it would taste good. Grasshoppers are green. Grass is green. Grass is mighty yummy. Shane just knew that a grasshopper would taste like sweet grass. Afterall, it’s called GRASS-hopper. Plus, it would just be fun to finally catch one.

About the Book
Jesus told a parable about a lost sheep. Have you wondered how the sheep was lost? To satisfy my own curiosity, I wrote a story about a lamb who went astray. The story you are about to read is from my imagination. It includes some ideas from the Bible. Jesus identifies himself as the Good Shepherd and Psalm 23 describes how a shepherd cares for sheep. You will find these and other truths from the Bible woven into the story. Children will find this book fun, fascinating, and engaging. They may even see some events from their own lives acted out in Shane’s adventure!

Erick Riddle has pastored churches for more than 40 years. He began ministering to young children and their families while still in Bible college. He has seen first-hand the impact a fun book that teaches has on the heart and mind of a child. He has been married to Donna for more than 45 years. He proudly serves as a volunteer Police Chaplain.
