Chapter 16 Where Would You Be?
Are you doing something that you KNOW God told you not to? Or, are you not doing something that God told you to do? I am speaking more to the believers here because y'all know! You're not crazy. You know He is real. If God has put something on your heart, remember God is good, so He is not going to tell you to do something bad or evil. Are you refusing? It is important to remember that we do not suffer the curses God gave in the Old Testament. God knew that He would be disobeyed. >>Now, however, when we disobey after knowing the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus, we grieve the Holy Spirit and put ourselves in the position to have a hardened heart that has a harder time hearing the Lord. His love is still there, but because of our choices, actions, and words, we have put a veil over our own eyes that God never intended we have. But Jesus came and took it away and will every time you ask, every time you turn back to Him, He is faithful to be who He says He is. He warns us, He knows we overestimate ourselves with things like, “I got this”. Really? Thank you, God that I don't have to have “this” because “You've got this”. I don't want “it” anymore. I want Him and pray He gives me sense enough to obey Him. My way sucks. Pride can still sneak up and bite me because make no mistake, the attitude of the heart that says, “I've got this”, is pride. His word tells us that with God all things are possible. So, God has this and me. I cannot do the Christian thing without Him. I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO!
“Turn to Me. Give Me your hearts.”
This is not a works-based process, but a broken one. You do not have to do it alone. If you ever think that your works will save you, read the book of James. His bossy self will cure you of a lot of notions. Feel the pain of your brokenness. How are you going to heal something you can't feel? Stop trying to numb yourself, even with the Bible. I have been of a Pharisee mindset before and it numbs your heart. When Jesus comes crashing in, it bleeds because it did not heal the right way. There was a scab over areas that He wanted to heal, but the world told me there were easier ways and when the scab got ripped off it hurt, but it was the right kind of hurt. There are areas that you may have that have a scab over it. It has been scabbed over for years. Won't ever heal, like you have something wrong with you or something. Jesus wants to heal you, but the pain of tearing that scab off has to be less than the pain the scab is causing so Jesus can lay His miracle-working hands on you, and it may hurt. The crazy thing is that it is up to you to choose when you will LET Him heal you. He won't come barging in like a bully. Jesus is always ready. We are the ones who hold onto the pain in some form of arrogant display of being a martyr. When being a survivor will make you angry about being a martyr. Stop it. Just stop it. Humbly come before the Lord, and ask Him for........
