THE THIRD DIMENSION

God is one essence, who manifests Himself in three distinct personalities. These three personalities make up the Godhead, or Trinity: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The moves and workings of God from the beginning of creation to the end can also be categorized into three dimensions: creation, redemption, and restoration of all things. The three persons of the Godhead are fully involved in each of these moves of God, but only one of them takes preeminence at a time.

Creation - At the time of creation, the Father had preeminence. Creation was His idea. He initiated it: "And God said, 'Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth' " (Genesis 1:26). He had preeminence from the time of creation till the end of the old covenant.

Redemption - Jesus, God the Son, had preeminence in the work of redemption. He was the one who laid down His life as the sacrificial Lamb to pay the full penalty for the sins of humanity so that man can be given eternal life and a standing before God as though he had never sinned. "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." (Ephesians 1:7).

Restoration - The third and final move of God is the restoration of man and all things to their original state. The one who takes over at this stage is the Holy Spirit. He is the one in command in the restoration plan of God. The restoration of all things is scheduled for the third day, and it is the final move of God that will bring an end to the present world where Satan exerts dominion.

Every believer who wants to be relevant in the third day must get to know the person of the Holy Spirit, have fellowship with Him, obey Him, and be sensitive to Him. He is the commander of the third day, and any believer who is disobedient or insensitive to Him will miss out on the move of God in this dispensation. Anyone who is serious about being relevant in this dispensation cannot afford to be ignorant of, or ignore the Holy Spirit: "But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me." (John 15:26).

Jesus made it abundantly clear that if He did not depart, the Holy Spirit would not come. This implies that the exit of the Lord Jesus to heaven ushered in another dimension of the move of God. Jesus left for heaven after completing His own assignment so that the Holy Spirit could take the purpose of God further on earth.

There are consistent patterns in Scripture to buttress this truth. This three-dimensional pattern of God's move is clearly seen throughout Scripture in various ordinances, instructions, parables, and teachings.
