“When God Speaks”, was published in the July/August 2022 edition of the Church of God publication Evangel. It was a warm and sunny Wednesday afternoon in August. I had finished dinner, and it was time for me to cut the grass.... When I was about two-thirds done with the front lawn and going around the corner, I heard the Lord speak to me. He said, “Go to Sayville.” It was a clear voice. With the lawnmower at full volume, I knew it had to be God. However, I argued in my head with Him, saying, “Just let me finish. I only have a few more turns and I'll be done.” I went around again, and the Lord spoke to me again. “Go to Sayville.” I said, “But Lord, all I have now is two more times. Just let me finish it.” I started to go again, but He spoke to me once more. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but my Word stands forever. Go to Sayville.” I said, “Yes, Lord.” I stopped the lawnmower. I was putting the lawnmower back into the garage when my wife came outside. She said, “Why didn't you finish the cutting the lawn?” I said, “The Lord told me to go to Sayville.” She said, “You will do anything to get out of cutting the lawn.” I know Sayville very well because I used to work for a TV repair business in Sayville. I wondered where I should be going. I pulled the car over in front of the Sayville library and asked the Lord, “Where do you want me to go?” The Lord told me, “19 Foster Avenue” Then the story gets really exciting about what happens next....

He holds a Doctor of Divinity from North Central Theological Seminary and been a teacher and preacher for over 40 years.
