Mystery in the Bible
No one can read the Bible and truly and fully understand it without first being “born again”, thereby having the Holy Spirit invited and dwelling within self, to guide the Way. This is not to say you shouldn't read the Bible before coming to Faith. It is only an explanation, to give you insight as to why you may not understand what you read.
Having the Holy Spirit living in your soul, and not driving Him away with your wickedness and careless-unrepentant living, must be a conscious effort in your life for understanding God's Truth. Thinking you are good and righteous in God's eyes and certain to go to heaven by your own understanding and good deeds, is the epitome of ignorance about the teachings of the Bible. Don't let your guard down. Believers should stay in touch with God through constant prayer, for He is with you all the time; even when He looks away from your evil and wrong doings.
The mystery that you see in the Bible is not always mystery. Very likely, it could be spiritual blindness which is a judgement against unfavorable behavior by mankind. Sin has more character than just that disclosed by the Ten Commandments. The following verses reveal God's intentions with respect to Mystery:
Luke 8:17 (NKJV) For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. God's primary purpose is not to hide the truth, but to make it known.
Colossians 1:26-27(NKJV) "the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. The mystery in the Bible has been revealed gradually over time, and to a widening audience when opened to the gentiles from whom it was hidden. Through the New Testament, Gospel secrets were revealed to gentiles, but there is more mystery yet to be revealed. It is not for us to know until the time is right, all according to God's will. Christ in us is the Holy Spirit who will reveal to us what is not yet known if we are mindful to be alert and pay attention. The spiritual blindness that God placed upon the Jewish nation and its leadership, during the age of Christ's first coming and rejection by them has remained now for over two thousand years as a mystery yet to be awakened for them."
Colossians 2:2-3 (NKJV) "that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Full assurance of understanding, necessary for sanctification and glorification is found in Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit."
Jeremiah 14:14 (NKJV) "False prophets telling the future by signs and omens: And the Lord said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart. Deceit is spawned from false prophesy. Mysteries will be revealed when the time is right."
Speculation is false prophesying probably leading people away under direction of Satan. Speculation (e.g. conjecture, assumption) is false teaching. So, do not be gullible to believe what the Bible and the Holy Spirit has not revealed; be watchful and be patient. Speculation about the rapture of Christ's Church and the second coming of Christ are speculations to be cautious about, because they tend to make you drop your guard and think you are safe, but therefore unprepared when He does return. You will not know the Day or the Hour.
There are many unfulfilled prophesies yet to be revealed, awaiting the End of the Age, in accordance with God's timing. We know generally what is ahead but there is still a lot of mystery. The mystery in most of the unfulfilled events is deliberately hidden in the Bible.

What does this book’s title, “Can’t See the Forest for the Trees” imply? A simple answer is:
• The ‘Forest’ is symbolic of God’s Plan, revealed in Bible scripture with all of its mystery to be understood and fulfilled with steadfast belief, faith and trust in the power of the Holy Trinity: God (the Father), Jesus Christ (the Son), and the Holy Spirit (one for all, all for one). God’s Plan is a work in progress nearing fulfillment.
• The ‘Trees’ are symbolic of obstacles, like gullibility, false teaching, false prophesy, false doctrine, apostasy, hate, lying, deceit, evil, love-of-money, blind speculation and the like; all of which are growing rampant in the United States.
• The message reveals Spiritual Blindness as a curse that God has imposed upon His Church for their lack of true faith in Him (not unlike the Israelites), as they turn away from the New Covenant Law, blindly accepting unsuspected guidance from Satan, to employ worldly ways and promote apostasy. By misguided faith some may be unprotected by the “Armor of God”, and their failing to cultivate the Fruit of the Spirit makes matters worse.
The author is hopeful that his book will bring awareness of spiritual blindness, to summon a repentant reaction for ‘restoration’ of religious understanding and direction in line with God’s real purpose.
About the Author
The author of this book, Eldon Adams and his wife, Bettie, now in their 70’s were both born into Christian families but became lost to ernest faith for most of their married life until just a dozen years ago. From God’s purposeful trials and tribulations they came to the realization that success without God, is no success. Like most professed but lost Christians they let ignorance define their belief and faith. Now, with two grown sons and an expanded family hardly knowing God and the Bible, plus a feeling of guilt for their shortcomings, they have turned to the God of their parents at last, hoping to make amends and asking forgiveness.
Eldon’s education and career-choice led him to become a CPA (Certifed Public Accountant). As such, the first 12 years of his career trained him to audit and certify the ‘truth’ of published financial statements with a large, international CPA firm.
Understanding is the key to seeing and verifying truth in financial statements and likewise, it is so in reading the Bible. It takes due diligence and discernment. Accordingly Eldon applied the same principals to his reading and understanding of the Bible.
At 77 years of age, Eldon had no expectation of having a “calling” from God. His thinking was, if he had a calling, he missed it in all of his misguided youth and self-direction.
So it is that this book may be the result of renewed understanding and inriched faith, being Eldon’s calling to deliver this hopeful message to America’s churches, with faithful moral support from Bettie, and spiritual help from the Holy Spirit. It took a long time on a long and twisted path. Nonetheless, here it is.
Please do not be offended by this puposeful message to expose spiritual blindness. Let it be a blessing to you that you “see” and can overcome the “pride and prejudice” that may stand in the way of your repentance. God in Jesus has control and His New Covenant Love and grace is yours for the asking and doing. It’s never too late.
