FOREWORD
By Tamara Jackson
Fasten your seat belt. Your entire life is about to change.
I know that seems like a gross overstatement but if you are the action taker that I believe you are, I am super excited about your future and you should be too.
In this book, you will finally get the answer to your most pressing question,
“How Did I Get Here? The Power of Choices” and find the strength to move forward. You are about to take a journey that will put everything that you have experienced in your life in its proper perspective. You will look at your past with fresh eyes; your future with unbridled optimism. And you are about to be uncomfortable, in a good way. Just like the author was the first day I met her.
Patience had the idea for this book for years but had not taken the necessary steps to bring her dream into reality. She was sidelined in The Land of Stuck. That is, until disruption came knocking at her door. God was the author of that disruption and I was fortunate enough to go along for the ride.
As a multi-passionate entrepreneur who chases dreams for a living and inspires others to do the same, I have learned to embrace disruptions. Because more often than not, disruptions are catalysts to living our best lives. Just like they were for Joshua, Joseph, and Esther.
“How Did I Get Here? The Power of Choices” can be that kind catalyst for you, if you let it. One that precedes an exciting new job assignment, a budding new relationship, lasting weight loss, or finally becoming financially free. The kind of catalyst that births big, bold, life-changing dreams.
Are you ready to live your best life?
Then grab a cup of coffee, get in a quiet corner, and crack open the pages of the “How Did I Get Here? The Power of Choices”. This book is the real deal. It was written by someone who has walked a mile in your shoes and has the scars to prove it.
How did I get here? The Power of Choices
By Patience Frisby
Introduction
Have you ever thought of a situation and in hindsight you realize, I made a wrong decision?
We go through life making choice after choice without really thinking of the impact of those choices until one day things stop for one reason or another then we look up and wonder how we got here.
That is the way my choices went. I looked up and wondered how things got so out of control because that was the way everything felt. It became so much easier to go back and look at different pieces to figure out how I ended up there than to pay attention when making each choice realizing that every choice has an impact. But now life has become more intentional. Choices are not made haphazardly or without a lot of thought. They can no longer be made like that, because each choice must lead to an intended destination.
The choices are at times not easy to make, for example, staying out and hanging out late would be great, or just carelessly having fun and getting caught up another time, or hope for the best after making a choice and pray everything will be pulled together at the last minute. What happens if things are not pulled together in time or a major opportunity is missed because the only thing that mattered was having fun?
The destination will show the sum of all the choices that have been made. And then it is figuring out where to go from there… Or looking at the choices to begin making better choices. Not leaving so much to chance or putting choices in your own hands.
