Introduction
What if I told you that every prayer you pray could be answered? And what if I told you that the answer could be a yes every time? After reading those two statements, you might be tempted to dismiss them based on your experience in prayer. But I would encourage you to stay with me and read on, and you will see that they are truth.
For believers, it is part of God’s plan that when we pray, he answers. Without this assurance, we would be left without the confidence needed to walk in victory as a part of redemption.
Many Christians pray scattershot prayers. Scattershot prayers cover as many bases as possible, thinking that there is a better probability that the answer will be received. Then the person goes on their way, hoping that they’ve done enough to receive. This need not be a picture of your prayer life.
The truth is that God has specific guidelines for prayer in His Word. When you know and follow His guidelines, your prayer life will become productive. You will produce the fruit of your prayers and your joy will be made full (John 15:11).
My goal in writing this book is to help you become effectual and productive in prayer. Dry, ineffective, and unanswered prayer may have caused you to lose heart and no longer see prayer as a blessing. Be encouraged because in the pages of this book we will draw from God’s Word about prayer, and you will see results. It’s praying God’s way that makes the difference.
Here are some of the things I will cover in this book regarding prayer. First, the foundation will be covered because nothing can stand without a firm foundation. Also, I will cover things such as God’s will in prayer, Holy Spirit in prayer, kinds of prayer, and much more.
The best way to read this book is to read it with your Bible in hand. Nothing can replace seeing scriptures in your own Bible for yourself. Next it would be beneficial to make notes and use a highlighting pen. You can make notes and underline directly in your book and highlight the points that you want to be able to go to quickly at a later date. You can do the same with your Bible.
Make use of the “Act on It” suggestions at the end of each chapter. This will help you to act on what you are learning and begin to incorporate what you learn into your prayer life. By doing these things, you will find that your prayer life will change for the better and will become the blessing God meant it to be in your life.
My heart is to share the things God has shown me that have made prayer a blessing to me as God intended. I once prayed and prayed without seeing answers. Then one day I began to look into God’s Word on prayer and what I found was life-changing. You can experience the same in your life.
For clarity I want to point out some things that I use interchangeably. When referring to the Bible, I also refer to it as God’s Word or the Word. When referring to being born again, I also use the term saved and refer to one who is born again as a believer.
All Bible quotes are from the King James Version unless otherwise noted.
