About the Author

Intrigued by the magic of words, Vicki Lipe, a lifelong English/speech/drama teacher and musician, finds poetry and music the most profound means by which the Creator stirs her soul. Beau the Basset Discovers the Seasons is her second book (following Discovering Amazing Animal Babies) and reflects her family’s decades-long love of the breed, particularly the hounds who, in succession, have ruled their home: Duke, Beau, and Zeke.

Mary Phillips is an artist and art historian. For many years she was a university professor of art and then a curator of art collections. Mary enjoyed teaching her students, not only in the United States, but abroad as well. Now retired from those positions, Mary continues to create her own artwork, principally in painting, drawing, and calligraphy. Nature continues to be a source of inspiration for her.
