God has not called you to a task you are ill-suited. Rather, it is because you are qualified that He has called you. To be called by Him is to be immediately and sufficiently credentialed. The word spoken to Abram and you is, “Leave (this). Go (there).” No one has ever been sent by God without Him going with the person. No one was ever called to meet God and on turning up, God wasn’t there. He has never given any commandment He expects us to do on our own. To be called by God is to be invited into collaboration with Him. To have gifts from Him is to be given the opportunity to wield something of His so you can participate in what He plans to do. To be called is the privilege of having the Almighty God, who does not need help from anyone, lay down His omnipotence to act through you, with you and ultimately for you. Whatever gifts you have, God intended for you to use them to bless others. It is only in doing so that you can reach your highest potential. When you reach that, God is glorified.
“I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people ... I am the LORD, that is My name and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.”13
This is then the secondary issue—it is not a question of if you have been gifted. It is a matter of fact that you have been gifted. The challenge is understanding you cannot be anything but called and gifted because the reason for all that is non-negotiable: to give God the glory. Isaiah’s passage breaks it down, “I called you. I will keep you. You will carry out My purpose. Its fulfilment will declare My name and My glory. I won’t let that go to another—I am a jealous God.”
This leads us to the tertiary issue—the most important question of your life. How am I (equipped) to give God the glory?
This is the first point of better decision-making. The more complex the decision you have to make, the more imperative it is to change your question from one that can be answered with a simple yes and no to a what or how question. Change from a search for confirmation to a discovery of substance and implementation.

In Decision Design, entrepreneur and clinical researcher Tasher Adaarewa shows some of how the mind works as he gets down to the business of decision making. From these, each chapter follows the life of Abraham, highlighting specific action steps for setting a personal vision, building rich, enduring relationships and walking with God as the patriarch did. Drawing on wisdom from the Bible, the author urges readers to focus on the calling for which God has uniquely equipped and qualified them. Through these lenses of scripture, science and business, the book offers insights into how we make choices in our business and personal lives and guard against the mental tendencies and shortcuts that can get us into trouble.
About the Author
Tasher Adaarewa is a clinical research coordinator with a particular emphasis on behaviour change. He has invested over ten years of research into how the brain works. Over this period, Tasher has tested and employed various methods to help people make lasting changes. Much of this research and application has taken place within an award-winning company that Tasher co-founded and, as President of Clinical Services, helped grow across Canada. Decision Design is his first published work bringing together his faith, passion for business and clinical research expertise.
