About the Author

Nancy Brandenburg is a retired neonatal, pediatric nurse of 45 years. She is a mother to 5 children and grandmother to 13 with another on the way. She lives in Lititz, PA with her Golden-Doodle Buster. This is her first published work.

Review of In His Grip Domestic abuse is painful. For me, it was emotional and financial pain. Nancy gives us a vivid picture of the trauma of physical abuse. It is hard to read about the life Nancy had to live, but I feel privileged that she would be so transparent to allow us to see how her life really was - and how it changed - and how God stood beside her throughout each moment. I appreciate the text she provides before each poem. It gives me perspective and understanding for the poem that follows. I feel this book will be of huge value to those that have suffered or are suffering domestic abuse. It also has important value for others who seek a deeper understanding of what happens to the mind and will of the abused. This book sheds God’s light on a dark, sinister evil.
