Day 4
Scripture: Colossians 4:5-6, Matthew 5:13-16
Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Colossians 4:5-6
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16
1. As a couple, how are you being salt and light to those around you? What about individually?
2. Have you ever struggled with the feeling that you were losing your saltiness or that your light was being covered up? How did you fight it?
3. How do you feel God calling you to add salt and light to your sphere of influence?
Lord,
You have given us the power to add Godly flavor to our world. You have asked us to use our love for you to shed light into the darkness of our world. There have been so many times when we have failed, but you are always providing opportunities for us to do your work. Help us to see areas where we have lost our saltiness and where we need to work on projecting your light more effectively. We want to change your world by the power you have placed within us. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear. Open our eyes to the areas that need your salt and your light. Help us to always be aware of the sphere of influence that we have.
In Jesus name,
Amen
