Just as it is for a newborn babe, so should it be for a new believer in Christ. The process of nurturing ought to be done with patience, care, and godly love.
After we have worked tirelessly to organize evangelistic services, we anticipate new souls to be won for the body of Christ. The same labor is needed to move them forward spiritually after they have accepted the call. Thus, the need for a simple handbook to help them along the way. Too often I encounter persons that have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior who are basically ‘left on their own to fend for themselves’. They wonder around with questions such as:
What do I do now?
Who do I speak with about this new decision?
Where do I go for help?
Why do I feel so helpless?
When will someone explain to me, ‘what to do differently?’
How do I ‘turn things around?’
After looking at the previous questions, it is only critical that this book be written for the body of Christ at large, and not for a particular church. The manuscript is set up in a way that all new believers can personally interact with its material, regardless of their denomination.
Take the time out with God to develop some new values, norms and morals that will change some of your old doings and be transformed to the newness of life in this your new walk (Ephesians 4:20-32).
At no time should this handbook replace your Bible.

The Lord’s Prayer or a Format?
In local, national, and international churches, schools, and homes, in both written and spoken contexts, people use the term ‘the Lord’s Prayer’ out of context. This prayer arrangement is mentioned in two of the synoptic gospels, namely Matthew 6 and Luke 11. In fact, the Lord’s prayers (implying that Jesus prayed) are found throughout all four gospels of the New Testament, especially in John 17; where Jesus prayed for his present and future disciples before going to the cross. Matthew 6:9–13 is a format that Jesus uses to teach us how to pray. A format gives a clear outline of how to organize something in order to get it right. About the Author
Shelleann Brown was born in Jamaica, West Indies, in 1976. After completing four years at the St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College, her pastor, Bishop Marcia Gale, assigned her to work with the Bible study teachers, Sunday school leaders, and new believers’ classes coordinators. Brown drafted a syllabus that created a more structured approach for each night’s study in the new believers’ classes. That catalog gave rise to her first book.
