"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."

The Caterpillar goes through a transformation process during its life. It starts out a little bit ugly. Then after a while it goes into the darkness of the cocoon. It's dark and lonely inside the cocoon. That's exactly where a lot of you find yourself right now. Your life has started out a little ugly and now you find yourself in the darkness of a jail cell. Being in a position that can feel quite lonely. Being separated from your family and friends. Facing an unknown future can make everything seem even darker. It isn't looking good but while the Caterpillar is in the darkness, God does the greatest work in its life. Transforming it through a process into a beautiful butterfly. Now it's extremely beautiful and able to do something it couldn't do before. Now it can fly! It became something totally different. That is exactly what God can do for your life too. While in the darkness of jail, God can begin to work on your heart. You are sober now, not distracted by the world, and you are in a quieter place for Him to start speaking clearly to you. You can have your life completely transformed while you're in there. It's not the end of your life but it's the beginning of a beautiful life. Like the butterfly developing wings, God will develop you. Now you can do some things that you never could do before. The darkness might be a scary place in your life but seek God through it. You can leave jail a lot better person then when you went in. That's what God can do. No matter what your past is like. It's up to you to make the decision to seek Him.
"Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!"

About the Book
Richard Lynn describes himself as an ordinary guy serving an extraordinary God. Through his own challenges and witnessing the challenges of others, Richard has realized that God makes a way for all of us to live a better life, filled with abundance and purpose.

62 Days in the Word shares scripture and thoughts that guide believers to take small steps every day in their walk with God to embrace His grace and wisdom and realize new beginnings.
About the Author
Richard A. Lynn has worked in a jail for over twenty years where he has witnessed the brokenness of the world. His first book, 62 Days in the Word, is inspired by his journal writings, biblical scripture, and his desire to motivate others to turn toward the Lord. Richard and his wife have three daughters and reside in a small town in Iowa.
