Notice, Peter did not begin to sink until after he focused on his fear of the wind. When Peter got out of the boat in Matthew 14:29, the fear and contrary wind were still there, yet it says “he walked on the water.” The storm itself had no power over what Peter could accomplish as long as he was focused on Jesus. The minute he let his fear exceed his faith, he began to sink. How many of us have stepped out on faith, trusting God’s word, then let challenges distract us?
