Supply is Needed
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 KJV
What a birthday gift I received on my birthday! I was not feeling well, having trouble breathing, a fever, etc., so I decided to get tested for the Covid virus. The next day, my ‘present’ arrived: I tested positive! Not many days after that, and on the suggestion of friends, I decided to go to the emergency room. I didn’t want to drive, so I called 911 for an ambulance to take me. In the back of my mind, I was concerned at how much the bill would be, as I remembered I had to pay over $600 for the same service to get my mother to the hospital months ago.
When I told the driver the hospital I wanted to go to, I was informed that was too far away, and their instructions is to take the patient to the nearest hospital, which in this case was about 10 miles away. I was hesitant, but went anyway, as I was not sure if the hospital would accept my health insurance. I trusted God to work it out.
I was at the hospital about three or four days, and after a lot of tests and being put on a low dose of oxygen, I was well enough to go home and finish recuperating. Though I was weak and very tired, I was happy to be back home.
A month later I got an email that stated that my health insurance processed a claim, so I looked it up. Turns out it was about four or five claims from when I was in the hospital regarding Covid.
If I did not have health insurance, my bill would have been over $51,000 for a four day stay!
I thank God for financial protection, and my insurance company paid my bill 100%! God
supplied my need, which was financial care while giving me the health care I needed. In the fourth chapter of Philippians, Paul was thankful that many believers came to his aid and provided
the supply he needed. He learned how to be thankful when he was supplied, and how to be thankful when supply was needed and lacking, and perhaps I can say the same. When belief is
exercised for a need, God will supply it, God will work it out.
I hope you will exercise your faith when a supply from God’s storehouse.
A Spiritual Renewal
“Create in me a pure heart, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10 KJV
When God creates, the result is great things; just look at all he considered when creating the human being. Because of sin, what was to be pure and right fell by the wayside, and that caused all of us to fall out of fellowship with him. It caused us to live life on our own terms, developing our own systems of living. If you’re honest, we can count the many times when life didn’t go so well, in fact, life for you may not presently be going well. By reading Psalm 51, this would be the conclusion David would have. After having an affair with a married woman, and arranging for her husband to be killed in battle, the prophet Nathan brought to his attention what went wrong. David in this psalm admitted he had sinned, and asked to be washed thoroughly, acknowledging he had done wrong against God and God only. Could you make a similar conclusion, admitting you need a different way of living?
If you ask God for a cleansing, he will provide the following:
An inner spirit that is established by him by his spirit, causing you to be stable
An inner breath that is new and refreshing
A spirit that is fixed on God's direction instead of your own
Will it be easy? It may be challenging, particularly if you are used to making life choices on your own. But if you make the first step to ask for a cleansing and a renewal, that decision will make all the difference. Choose a spiritual renewal now... all you have to do is ask.
