On my way to the interview, I decided to stop by the house to change. When I opened the front gate of the house, all my things were scattered on the front lawn. Deke was angry about our last conversation.
“You no longer live here,” he yelled.
“You are doing me a favor! Have a great life,” I yelled back.
I collected my belongings from the front lawn in a trash bag and put them in my little blue Camaro, which I recently purchased for $500, and headed to my interview. Homeless, not thinking about where I would end up after the interview, I gathered myself in the parking lot of the company, patted my cheeks, touched up my lipstick, aired my red eyes, took a deep breath, and went in. What happened next only God could have perpetrated.

About the Book
It all began one late afternoon when Yelena Ruidoso crawled her little five- or six-year-old body on the kitchen floor to escape the person molesting her. She managed to get away by telling him she needed to go to the bathroom. It wasn’t until years later, at a women’s conference, as she told her story, that she became compelled to write about it.
In Rescued by the Light, Ruidoso tells about her childhood, the abuse she suffered, and how she saw a light that made her wonder if there was something bigger than this world that could help her. She shares how the Lord rescued her again and again throughout her life and offered her grace more times than she can count.
Ruidoso describes a life of hope in a way only God could perpetuate, including miracles that happened throughout. She has passion to share the word of God and the blessings he still performs in the world today.
About the Author
Yelena Ruidoso is known for her giving heart and for her gift of encouragement. God called her to write after she shared her story at a women’s conference at The Cowboy Church of Ennis. Ruidoso earned a degree in word processing/administrative support. She lives with her family in Texas.
