The Place Beyond

According to legend, in a land far away, there existed a wonderful place called The Place Beyond. People called it The Place Beyond, because it lied beyond the Ordinary Village where the Ordinary People lived, beyond a dark forest, and a vast and stubborn sea, and beyond a great obstacle that they say cannot be moved. But most importantly, they called it The Place Beyond, because it was a place beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.

One day, Someone came to the Ordinary Village where the Ordinary People lived and told them wonderful tales that sounded too extraordinary to be true. She told them stories about The Place Beyond.

“It is real,” she said, “follow the Path of Destiny, and you will find it.” But the people did not believe her. Instead, they made fun of her and her stories and called her a liar. They said, “These stories are too extraordinary to be true,” and they went back to their ordinary lives in the Ordinary Village, and she eventually left them alone.

But there was one boy in the Village who was different. He was not Ordinary like everyone else. He had wild dreams and a desire for a life beyond the Ordinary Village.

So he told the People in the Village that he was going to go to the Place Beyond, and that anyone who wanted to join him, could come along. But the People made fun of him and called him crazy. “Yeah right,” they said, and they rolled their eyes at him.

But the boy did not care what anyone said or how they rolled their eyes. He packed his backpack, laced up his hiking boots, and set off to follow the path of Destiny to the Place Beyond.
