PTSD closed me off from the normal world years before I knew what it was doing in my life and relationships. It was like an undetected cancer tumor slowly extending its destructive fingers throughout my mind, body and soul.
We with PTSD live in two worlds simultaneously: that of the present, and that of the past. Our lives are filled with flashbacks; nightmares; intrusive thoughts of war; restlessness; depression; isolation; and a host of other degrading things. Left undealt with PTSD destroys relationships and sometimes life itself.

About the Author
Robert enlisted into the Army after graduating from High School. He eventually came down on levy for Vietnam. He spent most of his time in the Central Highlands, attached to the 173rd Air Borne Infantry.
