Learning to "just be His" will require an intentional paradigm shift on our part, a major shift, one that will probably have to occur repeatedly before it finally settles in to the soil of our hearts. It is deeply ingrained in most of us to believe, not so much that we belong to God and are His, but that, for the most part, we are "our own" and thus are largely "on our own" when it comes to the things of this life. Sadly, we constantly find ourselves falling victim to that lie, even in our dealings with God. Certainly within our personally prescribed times of worship and devotion we recognize that we do actually belong to God, but we quickly lose sight of that truth once we re-enter the "real world".
To correct this faulty fallback mechanism, we will have to intentionally learn and relearn, time and again, what it truly means to be His and how to fully accept the fact at a heart-and-soul level that we really do belong to Him as beloved and valuable possessions, 24/7, all day, every day.

About the Book
Most Christians probably do not think of themselves as possessions of Christ in a literal sense, but Scripture makes it clear that this is indeed the case. This book will help you come to some understanding of what this may mean for you and of what blessed results this understanding could produce in both your internal and external realities.
About the Author
Joel Backstrom has served in the Lord’s kingdom work as a Christian minister and/or educator since 1975. Most of those years were spent as a high school teacher, administrator, and coach in both public and Christian schools across the nation. He has also served as an Army chaplain, and institutional chaplain, and a parish pastor in various settings. He and his wife, Jane, have three adult married sons and six grandchildren. They are now retired and living in northern Arizona.
