For the Weary Life Traveler

Traveling has provided fresh air for my soul. But I've found that one of the downsides of travel is all the waiting involved. Waiting in line, waiting to board, waiting on the runway, waiting for takeoff. Our timelines don't always match up with air traffic control. The same is true for our walk with the Lord. His timing and our timing don't always line up, but there are things we can do in the waiting. I took a trip to Ireland to meet up with some long-time friends. While we were there, we visited the Cliffs of Moher. I found myself anxious to capture the grandeur of the moment for social media; waiting for that perfect shot, I realized I had not taken it in for myself. I didn't want to miss taking in God's creation for myself with my own eye instead of through a lens. At that moment, I realized life is too short not to enjoy the wait. To fully live, you need to fully feel — good and bad. To live is to be engaged and present, living the journey God has given you.
