You have a defender in Jesus Christ, and He has given you everything you need to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Chapter 1: Defenseless (Excerpt) Life is like a battlefield, and we are all soldiers in a war that we cannot see. We are constantly being attacked by the enemy, and if we are not careful, we can easily become defenseless. Being defenseless means that we have no protection against the attacks of the enemy. We are vulnerable and open to being hurt and destroyed. In my own life, there was a time when I felt completely defenseless. I was struggling with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. I felt like I was in a dark pit with no way out. I tried everything I could to get out of that pit, but nothing seemed to work. It wasn't until I turned to Jesus Christ that I finally found the help and hope I needed. It poisons my mind and it withers my soul, Leaving me broken and losing control. But then comes the Savior, with love in His eyes, He hears all my groaning and hears all my cries. He brings me the antivenom, the blood that He shed, To bring back to life what was once cold and dead. The power of the cross is the cure for the sting, Of every dark shadow and every dark thing.
