We Can̓t See The Forest For The Trees

Each day we toil along our way
Never seeing the simple,
the good, in each day.
The beauty of the breaking dawn;
The glorious splendor of the sunset.
Yet we toil, we labor
All for selfish gain and
not for good of fellow man.
All the while we miss
The wonder, the thrill,
The sheer abandonment of anything evil.
Of children̓s laughter
Of their innocence and wonder
Of all things new in their sight.
Of majestic mountains to oceans blue
Behold nature̓s beauty abounds.
From birth until death
Such beauty the eyes shall behold.
What will we have gained
While life is passing by;
All the struggle all the toil.
Will soon just fade away.
Yet the beauty and the splendor
The majesty and the wonder
Of all earth̓s treasures
Will gently fade away to nevermore
as undiscovered rare gems
In the hand of the Creator.
Psalm 90:10
As for the days of our life, they contain 70 years, or if due to strength, eighty years.
Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow for soon it is gone and we fly away.

About the Book
Nothing teaches you more than the school of life. About yourself. About others. We find in our struggles that we do have a common bond. Yet we find ourselves in isolation, in darkness that we can overcome. Sunsets and Seasons probes the deep issues and the darkness while pointing us back to the simple beauty of a sunset, a child’s laughter, nature and the Creator.
About the Author
Connie was raised in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in Southern WV. She learned to love the beauty of God’s creation and the love of being in nature early in life. Being the only daughter of a farmer, who instilled a hardworking ethic in her and her 3 brothers, many hours were devoted to the family farm where she developed an extreme love for kids, animal and “old folk”. Of these she was always ready to be a champion to defend their honor however she could. To her great surprise, she found a love of capturing pictures of seasons, sunsets, and the beauty of nature later in her life and much to her satisfaction and delight, started penning thoughts to paper. It is her desire for the reader to find themselves somewhere in their own seasons of life in these thoughts put to pen. May God add his blessing to each one who is gently finding their way....
