I Choose Victory

OPENING NOTE FROM TRICIA

First and foremost, the purpose for my sharing a portion of my life song is to give all glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was through my healing journey that I began to describe my life as a song. No matter if a note is flat or sharp. Jesus uses it all to compose a beautiful and unique life song. There are never any notes or chords more important than the others. They all must be written and played for the composition to be truly experienced and heard.

When we allow Jesus Christ to walk beside us through our life journeys, He becomes co-owner of our life songs. There is tremendous power when we vocalize our testimony of how our lives have been renewed and transformed by Him. In doing so, we not only share our life songs but His. When the Lord is glorified and lifted high, the enemy’s leverage is weakened, and his plot against us destroyed, resulting in our experiencing incredible healing and

freedom.

Throughout this book, it is my desire to share how immensely Jesus loves you and me. It is impossible to fully explain Jesus’s love, but I will do my best by sharing a piece of my life story

and God’s words that I clung to. I believe both are proof of His love. I am thankful that Jesus gave me the gift of the Holy Spirit. Through every movement of my life song, I have strongly felt

the Holy Spirit’s presence, filling my voids while guiding and directing me.

God’s incredible, perfect Word has been my life source and my guidebook. I am so thankful Daddy God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit desire after me and are thrilled when I visit with them. They are pleased to call me daughter and are never annoyed

with me. I am very thankful for this because there are days when I resemble a nonstop-chatterbox little girl.

My prayer is that as I write these words, it will be a passageway for God to heal my heart where there are still wounds and calluses. As you read the following pages, my desire is that the words will bring you encouragement and help you in your own life journey and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. How often our human nature tries to compare our storms to others’ storms. Our storms, our hurricanes, are not meant to be rated and placed on a severity scale, based on the details. I have chosen to omit the details because I do not want those to be the focal point; rather, it’s the victory and the freedom that can be had. This is where the encouragement and healing can truly be experienced.

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you. (Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT)

As I share my story and struggles, I want it to be known that Jesus Christ has always been my rescuer and protector. He went ahead of me and then returned, just to walk each step next to me. My prayer is that you will find real, indescribable hope, joy, and peace that is only offered by the Lord and experience a free and rejuvenated new life in Him.
