Flying Butterfly
Supplies:
Crayons or Colored Pencils or Markers
Scissors
1 Chop Stick
White Glue
Paper Towels for clean up
Directions:
• Use crayons to color the butterfly.
• Use scissors to cut out the colored butterfly.
• Glue the end of the chopstick (approximately 2 inches) to the back of the butterfly. Let dry.
• While holding the end of the chopstick, move stick up and down to make a flying butterfly.
Information:
• Q: A butterfly begins life as an egg. What does the egg grow into?
A: A caterpillar.
• Q: What does the caterpillar turn into?
A: A chrysalis or cocoon.
• Q: What does the chrysalis turn into?
A: A beautiful butterfly.
• Q: Does the butterfly become a new creation from the caterpillar?
A: Yes.
• Q: When we ask God to guide our lives do we become a new creation?
A: Yes.
• Q: What happens that makes us a new creation?
A: Our old way of living is gone or dead and we are spiritually re-born as a new child of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come!

This book is for all ages and includes creative crafts that will improve fine motor skills and well-being, a gardening activity, and of course, Beautiful Butterfly photography and the message of New Life. Spiral bound book.
About the Author
The Nikon EM, which used film, was Karen’s first camera given by her parents one year for Christmas. Adjusting to a digital camera, the Nikon D300, was a challenge. Advancements in computers and her family’s generosity make it possible to create children’s books, greeting cards, calendars, and posters. These include a Naples Equestrian Challenge poster, displays in a local art gallery, businesses, and private homes, plus Bible study tools. She has a B.A. in Fine Arts with a teaching credential and has had a passion for graphic arts since the 1980s while at Compugraphic, Atex, and Xyvision.
