About the Author

Courtney Stephens is mischievously imaginative and greatly desires to use words to inspire creative thought and to empower people of all ages to add magic to their daily lives by exercising their own powerful imaginations. She comes from a long legacy of women who love storytelling and encourage big dreams. Courtney made up her first story before she could even read for herself and she has not stopped scheming, writing, or creating since. Being an author is her lifelong passion. After acquiring degrees in Psychology, Youth Ministry, Human Services: Marriage and Family Counseling, and starting a relatively normal family in the Midwest, Courtney published her first children’s book in 2012, but decided to add to her lot of crazy children to further her expertise before publishing more. There are now five young, wild kids that live with Courtney and her husband in their cozy house; along with two lazy, seven pound dorkie-poos, a feisty little black bear hamster, and a mason jar beta fish that travels with them everywhere they go! Aside from her family, Courtney loves photography, photoshop, and coffee, all of which motivate the unique style of illustrating that she uses for her stories. Her favorite kind of afternoon is spent at Grandma’s house investigating the vast book selections or pouring over a puzzle and soaking up each other’s company.
