PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS

We are in an extremely contentious world. Neighbors are fighting with each other about political disagreements. Long-lasting friendships have crumbled because of voting differences. As people of faith, we have access to the only real and lasting solution. That is a Holy God who is keenly aware of what is going on; not only at this very moment but also what will happen in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. Our God, who is the Author of creation, is willing and able to intervene.
What if we cease fighting with our neighbors and start earnestly praying for our elected leaders -by name- to lead and legislate with God-fearing wisdom and reverence? What might God do if we join in prayer for our national leadership?
This is a start. Pray intently. Pray specifically. Pray.
Proverbs 2:6 (ESV)
For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Father in Heaven, please guide our president and his cabinet. Help them to acknowledge that the only source of true wisdom is You. We beg You God on behalf of these leaders WHO YOU HAVE PERMITTED to be in their positions, that they would be humble and that they would daily seek Your perfect wisdom. Help them all to lead well. Please protect their families and help them to never forget that You love them and that they are all part of Your perfect plan.
