I would be lying if I said that I do not wake up every day wondering if today is the day. If today is the day that will be easy. If today is the day I get to feel like all the other moms. If today is the day that it all goes away as if it never happened to begin with. If today is the day I get to be the mom I always dreamed of being from the moment I found out I was pregnant with this gift of life. If today is the day that will come to a close without the ramifications of our current situation destroying my attempts of creating a “normal” household. I literally pray every single day that my children have amnesia of certain parts of their childhood because I am fully aware of how short I come up when it comes to being the momma they need in each situation. Most days I get so overwhelmed with managing the chaos that I almost come out of my own skin because I feel incredibly inadequate and ill-equipped for the task. My best attempts at loving them in the moment are oftentimes a galaxy away from the correct response. More days than I want to admit end with me being angry and disappointed in myself.

About the Book
Too many parents wait too long to advocate for their children who learn differently because they feel incompetent or ignorant. When in reality, children just need their parents to do the next right thing and walk it out one decision at a time. That can be scarey though when you feel alone and like everyone else’s child is “normal”. Learning Differently is meant to create a community of parents that will be brave enough to say, “My kid is different and it is my job to fight for them until he/she is old enough to fight for themselves.” We as parents hold the keys to whether of not these “differences” create victims or victors. Let’s create champions together!
About the Author
Elizabeth Blake-Casano is a southern momma who has dedicated the last 11 years of her life to being an advocate for her two oldest children who are dyslexic and have ADHD. She is also the host of the podcast, Honey Hush as well as a Certified Enneagram Coach. @honeyhushhive @ebc_consulting
