The Lord has dealt with me many times on letting go and letting Him have His way in my life. God has spoken to my heart so many times saying, “Shannon how can I be glorified if you have too much pride to admit your weaknesses?” So many times I’ve answered, “But Lord I don’t want to appear weak.” His answer to me can be found in 2 Corinthian 12; 9. (Which I have already shared in a previous chapter) But He said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. (NIV)
When I am weak, He makes me strong. When I can’t, He can. It was time to stop fighting God. It was time to “let go” and cooperate with Gods plan for my life. I wish I could claim that I began “boasting all the more gladly about my weakness”, like Paul in 2 Corinthians, but I was a far cry away from that. Baby steps, I was learning to let go. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. Psalms 51; 17 (NIV)
