Chapter 7
Gifted
When we think of the word gifted, we think of athletes with incredible natural abilities or singers with extraordinary voices. Pastors can be gifted to preach, teach, sing and play musical instruments, multitalented with exceptional talents and abilities.
As I looked at the definitions of the word gifted it justifies this thought pattern because the main definition of gifted is having exceptional talent or natural abilities. But as I studied the different definitions of gifted in relation to the message the Lord is relaying in this book, one definition stood out—being gifted is having been endowed with something valuable or useful such as an attribute or characteristic. Endow means; to provide with a quality, ability or asset. An asset is a useful or valuable thing or quality, and quality is the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind. Quality is also defined as the degree of excellence of something. A distinctive attribute or characteristic possessed by someone.
When we look at the two different definitions for the word gifted it is clear to see that the first definition is the talents and abilities we are naturally born with. We were naturally born with some gifts, for instance, some abilities or talents we inherit. Talents can skip a generation, some people have talents but their siblings do not; not everyone in most families inherits the same gifts, but at times, a whole family can be gifted, such as singers or the ability to play musical instruments.
Being born again fits the second definition of gifted—being endowed with something. Jesus Christ provides us with spiritual rebirth when we accept him into our lives and are born again. Jesus is God’s perfect endowment to us. God loves us so much that he sent a unique gift which in itself contains every good, perfect, and everlasting gift. Jesus is God’s perfect and excellent gift whose quality is immeasurable when measured against anything or anyone else. Something that is immeasurable is too large, extensive or extreme to measure. God’s love for us is just that big, it is immeasurable. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. He loved us so much that he packaged a unique and special gift and sent it down from heaven, the perfect gift that contains everything we need and is available, useful and valuable. When you allow Jesus Christ to work in you, the Holy Spirit will develop within you God’s wonderful gifts of love, joy peace, kindness, goodness, patience and longsuffering.
Just as when God breathed into Adam the breath of life and Adam was equipped to walk, talk and be like God, when we are born again, God endows us with the attributes and characteristics of Jesus. Jesus is God’s perfect endowment; through him we receive everything we need to be fruitful and live productive lives. When we are born again we become alive in Jesus Christ and we receive the same spirit that Adam received. We receive all of God’s wonderful and amazing gifts. We are reconciled with God and have received his Free Gift of Eternal Life 2 Corinthians 5:17-18. God’s most precious Gift of Life comes alive inside of us so that we can live an abundant life through Jesus Christ John 10:10. We receive God’s greatest gift; The Gift of Love is placed in our heart by the Holy Spirit; life and love go hand in hand, where life exist, love exist Romans 5:5, and God’s Most Valuable Gift our soul can now be renewed by the Word of God, healed and restored Romans 12:2, Psalm 23:3. When we accepts God’s Ultimate Gift, his Perfect Will, Jesus the Good Shepherd shows us his way, teach us the right paths and lead us into the truth of God’s Word, righteousness and holiness which is God’s perfect will for our life Psalm 25:4.
Because we have accepted God’s Perfect Gift, Jesus Christ, and is born of the Spirit of God and is endowed with all his gifts, we are now a child of God and have become an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ. As his heir, we are legally entitled to everything written in God’s Will Romans 8:17.
You can find God’s will in the Holy Bible. God’s Will is perfect, and it has everything written in it that you need to live an abundant life through Jesus Christ. When you receive the perfect gift that God offers you, you are gifted and you have the same opportunity that Adam and Eve had, to obey God’s commandments, be fruitful and become who God created you to be and live the life he desires you to live here on earth. You now have a new identify in Jesus Christ and have been created in his image and likeness. 2 Corinthians 5:17 let us know; if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; and behold all things are become new. God’s Spirit now lives in you therefore the Power of God resonates inside of you through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Son of the true and living God and you can now do all things through Jesus who strengthens you Philippians 4:13.
Resonate is an idea or action that means to meet with someone in agreement. Jesus is the Word of God and when you study the Word; the Holy Bible, and come in agreement with it, you therefore come into agreement with Jesus. When you take action and line up with the Word of God the Word will renew your mind, change your carnal way of thinking and you will take on the mind of Christ which will deliver you from sinful ways and a sinful lifestyle. Resonate also means to produce or be filled with a deep, full, reverberating sound. Once you know the Word and come into agreement with what the Word say’s, then speak the Word over situations you encounter in your life, the Words you speak will produce a deep reverberating sound within your inner man. As you continue to speak God’s truth and stand in faith on what the Word say’s about the situation you are faced with, the Words you are speaking becomes a full reverberating sound, echoing in the spiritual realm the truth of God’s Word, and allowing Jesus to work on your behalf and fulfill God’s promises concerning your life.
Sinning is a choice, not an option! If you partake of sin you will surly die. “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2. Choose Jesus Christ and live! Joshua 24:15
