CONQUERING ANXIETY
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (RSV)
Meditation:
This is one of my “go to” passages when I succumb to the temptation to worry and be anxious. So many people are quick to excuse their habit of worrying and being anxious by saying they can’t help it or they were born this way. Okay, so who said any of us are capable of avoiding worry and anxiety? It is the way of the world, the fruit of the flesh. It can only be overcome by the power of the Holy Spirit! You are NOT strong enough to conquer fear, worry or anxiety. You can go to the Lord in prayer, asking Him to do it for you. He will. Satan will return to attack you and bring doubts into your mind and heart. Take it to the Lord in prayer. He will strengthen you and bring you His peace. You may have to fight this sin many times every day for it is not easy to give up worry. However, you must keep giving it up to the Lord, praising Him, giving thanks to Him and trusting Him. Get rid of anxiety by giving it to God --- again, and again and again. God will win this battle!

19 years ago Judy answered a call by God to write and distribute a daily devotion. God’s daily inspiration and sustainment has remained constant in spite of personal and worldwide challenges. Wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, Sunday School Teacher, and former church choir director, describe Judy but her deep devotion to God and her dependency on Him to provide daily verses and meditations are her only qualifications to be His author.
