About the Book

Have you ever felt like you do not fit in with the people around you? Perhaps you have noticed you look different than others, or maybe you do not have the same likes and dislikes... Maybe you just feel different than the rest of the world.

This workbook series explores those challenging thoughts from a Christian perspective. Here, you will learn about the magnificent Creation of the world and your place in it with a positive outlook. Everything is about God and his immeasurable love for you. When you finish the lessons, you undoubtedly will be able to answer the question: God, Why Am I Different? (You will like the answer!)

All illustrations in this book are hand-drawn by Derek Wines, an exceptional young adult with Autism.

About the Author

Kathy Wines, RN, BSN, MHA recently retired from 30+ years in the medical industry. She served on the original board for a Wilmington, NC Autism Parent Support group. She is dedicated to continued education and life skill development for her son Derek, with Autism, and grandson Michael, who is affected by cerebral palsy.

Fluent in helping children and young adults with multiple abilities, Kathy and her husband William have supported and paved the path in the local special needs community starting in their own home. Together, they engraved in their children to care and advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves, who in turn share the same passion for serving the community.

Knowing that God has entrusted and guided their family with such precious children in their lives to teach, encourage and support, Kathy continues to dedicate her time to making a difference for other families who also experience the challenges that surface when raising children with special needs.
