driven in bold wonder, we are
to behold bright’ning stars and dare
the fiery steed to bear us there
yet still the boldest wonder remains
as ancient as ev'ry breath in man
to lay hold in passion's flame
the same Who fashioned
these in raging forge
so journey, then, from mortal plight
into that Holy Light
by muse, soul and spirit flight
'til flesh is lost and life is found
beyond all hopeless night
