Come to the Well

Genevieve had been living with her aunt for a little bit when she decided it was time to explore and see what she could find, since this would now be her home. She loved adventures. She and her parents would often pretend to be on safari and visit strange and exotic places like the ones she read about in her storybooks.

It was time to start a new adventure, so off she went to explore the woods behind her new home. Genevieve was a little bit frightened because she usually didn’t go on these types of adventures by herself, but she knew her aunt was right inside the house and would come find her if she got lost.

As she made her way through the woods, she let her imagination take her to a place that had rare birds and beautiful flowers and trees. It was truly a magical adventure. She soon became so enthralled by her surroundings that she forgot where she was going. She was turned around in the wrong direction and couldn’t find her way home. She sat down and began to cry. She knew if her parents had been with her, she wouldn’t be lost and feel so alone.

As she sat there crying, she remembered that her mom and dad had told her to pray to Jesus when she was scared. Genevieve began to pray. When she looked up, she found an old set of marble stairs built into the hill. They were covered in dirt and vines, which had the most beautiful and delicate flowers she had ever seen. As she made her way up the stairs, she began to feel a strong sense of comfort and pure love.
