WHY PRAY?
Why should we pray? It allows us to develop our relationship with the Lord. Paul gets right to
the heart of this relationship in Ephesians 3:16–19 (AMP).
May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually
energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your
innermost being and personality], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts
through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely]
grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints [God’s
people] the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing
that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically
through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere]
knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your
being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of
God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].
WHERE TO PRAY
Is there a special place that you go to when you begin your prayer time? I feel there is nothing
I can do that is more satisfying, more rewarding, more touching to my heart of hearts, than
when I get up early in the morning, before the house gets moving, to go to a place where I feel
comfortable and pray to the Lord our God!
It can be in another room, in a closet, in your bed, outside in your car—any place where you
can find peace. It doesn’t have to be early in the morning, and it doesn’t have to be a quiet
place. For me, I need silence in order to concentrate. You may like to listen to music on your
headphones. But whatever makes you feel comfortable will make your time with the Lord even
more rewarding.
Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left [the house], and
went out to a secluded place, and was praying there. (Mark 1:35 AMP)

About the Book
Many people have told me that they aren’t consistent with their praying and don’t have a prayer plan that has worked for them. In Practical Prayer, we examine fundamentals and essential qualities of prayer and provide a framework for developing your own plan. My prayer is that this workbook will guide you on your own journey using these foundational principles and ideas.
About the Author
Roger Manusov resides in San Diego, California with his wife, Gina. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Long Island University. He has participated in missions trips to Russia, India, and Mexico and is currently a group facilitator for the Community Bible Study program.
