From the distance, Mr. Jay noticed that his classroom door was open. As he approached his door, a small furry-looking object caught his eyes. It was on the floor near the staircase next to the hallway entrance of his classroom. It looked familiar, so he decided to get a closer look. To his surprise, it was one of his stuffed animal story puppets that Miss Hart supposedly returned.
“How did this get here?” thought Mr. Jay as he bent down to pick it up. “Hmm, it looks like Miss Hart returned all of the animals except for this one. She probably lost it! I guess if others will not take good care of what they borrow, then perhaps they should not be allowed to borrow them in the future!” thought Mr. Jay angrily to himself as he picked up the little lamb…Suddenly he heard a crashing sound coming from his classroom. Could it be one of the custodians dropping something?

About the Author
A. A. Jackson has been teaching professionally in parochial schools since 1980, and in public elementary schools since 1992. He graduated from the College of New Rochelle in 1992 (B.A. with Honors; Psychology & Education); and from Hofstra University in 1993 (M.S. in Elementary Education). His intrigue of multiple genres, but especially the dramatic resolution of realistic fiction, began as a young child as his parents fostered the love of learning with children’s books and multimedia. A. A. Jackson and his wife Lisa have two adult children who have also been blessed with the love of learning.
