Jeremiah 29:11-14
English Standard Version
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
Plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
When writing the story of your life, don’t let anyone else hold the pen on your behalf. Never forget why you started, continue to set your life on fire, and always seek the presence of those who fan those flames. As often as the wind may shift your direction and you quickly seek protection, remember that in that moment, you either define the moment or you let the moment define you.
God brings trials into our lives to give us more of Him. The purpose for the trials is that we might not rely on ourselves in those moments, but look to Him for salvation, hope, and joy. The purpose is that we would lean on God, fix our eyes on His glory, and cling to the truth that is found in Jesus because He is always enough for us.
This is the truth that resounds in the depths to which God calls us. He invites us to step out in order to follow Him, dream, plan, and build. He invites us put our hands to work for His name’s sake. The work is not attributed to our expertise, knowledge or giftedness. He invites us here based upon who He is Himself. He invites here because He knows that it is here that our souls must rest in His embrace, not anywhere else. It’s here, above and beyond every other place, that His children must grasp the wonder of what it means to be His own. Because of the cross and victory of Jesus, we are His and He is ours. We are His people, He is our God. We are His children and He is our Father. He is enough. He will prove His sufficiency to us and show us time and time again that all we need is found in Him. All we could ever lack is found in the abundance of His grace. Indeed we would fail because the weight is too much, and like the Apostle Paul, we can’t carry this in our own strength. But God is there and His sovereign hand is our guide. His heart of mercy is our anchor. He will make our faith stand and He will be our God in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 91:14-16
English Standard Version
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
On June 17, 2013 , , I decided to end my life after suffering from chronic depression, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder for years. I had many attempts at seeking medical help, medications, and hospitalizations. I spent many days and months in bed. When I was found having no pulse, I was taken to the hospital. There was no hope from the doctors, but God had a different plan for me. Forty-eight hours went by and His will was for me to open my eyes to life again. There was little damage to my system, but memory loss was a reality for me. I had to start many things from scratch, but the doctors called it a miracle.
The incident left a drastic effect on my intimate relationship. I was separated from the man I called my beloved husband on August 5, 2013, and later officially divorced .
Life seemed to stop there for me, but it didn’t. They say life goes on; it’s going on—but hardly, painfully, regretfully, with lots of tears, pain, and struggles. As tough, hard, painful, and indescribable as things were, I knew I had lost everything I had. I was unaware of was coming next in my life. I was left alone, struggling to get back on my feet again. But I knew and believed deep inside my heart that God was not finished with me yet. He was planning to use me in a very special way. What I didn’t know was when, how, and where? I had and still have no answer to many things. But I know He is the God of the universe, the God of all power, and nothing is impossible for Him.
As life became harder on me , I learned to trust Him, lean on Him, and be open to the plan He had for my life. What that life had in store for
